Cricket legend Shane Warne relists his luxurious $7.4 million Melbourne mansion – Daily Mail

Cricket legend Shane Warne has relisted his multi-million dollar mansion after postponing plans to sell earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The retired sportsman, 50, purchased the home in Brighton, an affluent suburb in Melbourne’s south-east, in April 2018 for $5.4million and now hopes to sell it for between $6.8million and $7.4million.

The property, which includes a wine cellar and tasting room, had been scheduled to go to under the hammer on April 5 before the auction was called off.

A for sale board reappeared at the house last week, according to the Herald Sun.

The house has five bedrooms and three bathrooms, a large swimming pool and spa, a basement theatre, a bar, and an underground garage with space for four cars.

On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen and family space, the first guest bedroom, a utility and powder room, and a formal dining and living room.

The family space leads out to the pool and spa with a deck and alfresco dining area – perfect for outdoor entertaining.

The home also features a large study, a deluxe master bedroom with spa ensuite decorated with Doric columns, and a balcony.

The basement floor houses a theatre and a lavish bar, as well as the fifth bedroom with an ensuite and sitting room.

The Spin King is not the first sports star to have owned the property, as AFL player Matthew Lloyd had previously lived at the address.

Earlier this year, JP Dixon Real Estate director Jonathan Dixon said that a number of parties were interested in the property.

‘At the moment things are fairly skinny, but there are people who love it,’ Mr Dixon told Realestate.com.au at the time.

‘The market itself is still moving along, there are people out there saying that stocks have gone and they’re getting nothing from the bank, so let’s stick to property.

‘It’s a terrific home and it’s got some hi-tech features.’
